Terms of Service

1. Who we are

RecipeGPT is operated by MYAICARDS LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 16369856), with its registered office at Apartment 81 Circus Road East, London, England, SW11 8BB. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean MYAICARDS LTD, and "you" means the person using the service.

These terms form a binding agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and forms part of this agreement.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use RecipeGPT. The service is not designed or intended for children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18 we will close it and delete the associated personal data.

By using the service you confirm that you are 18 or over and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

3. Your account

You sign in with Google, Apple, or a one-time code sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account and those sign-in methods secure, and for everything done through your account.

Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account. You may delete your account at any time under Settings → Data & privacy; what that removes is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. What RecipeGPT is — and what it is not

RecipeGPT is a cooking assistant. You describe what you want and it generates a recipe: ingredients with quantities, ordered steps, and timers. It is a tool to help you decide what to cook and to guide you while you cook it.

Recipes are generated on demand rather than tested in a kitchen. Nobody has cooked the dish before it reaches you, and no human reviews it before you see it.

5. AI-generated content

Recipes, suggestions, titles and other content in the service are generated using large language models provided by OpenAI. This section explains what that means for you, because it matters.

• Output is probabilistic. The same request can produce different answers, and the model can produce content that is inaccurate, incomplete, implausible, unsuitable or unsafe — including content that reads as confident and authoritative while being wrong.
• We do not review generated recipes before you see them. Automated checks run on every recipe (for structure, timings, and internal consistency), but these catch defects of form, not errors of fact or judgement.
• We give no warranty that generated content is accurate, complete, original, current, or fit for any particular purpose.
• Generated content is not unique to you. Other users making similar requests may receive similar or identical recipes, and we do not promise exclusivity.
• We do not warrant that generated content is free of third-party rights. AI systems are trained on large bodies of existing material, and we cannot guarantee that any particular output does not resemble an existing work.
• You must apply your own judgement before cooking, eating, or serving anything to another person. This is not a formality — it is the single most important term in this agreement.

Your messages, and any photographs you attach, are sent to OpenAI in order to generate a response, and are also submitted to an automated moderation check. As between you and us, and to the extent we hold any rights in it, we assign to you the rights we receive in the recipes generated for you, so that you may use them freely including commercially. We cannot assign more than we have: where AI-generated content attracts no copyright at all, or where rights belong to a third party, there is nothing for us to transfer. Your use of the service is also subject to OpenAI's own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their services, availability, or changes to them.

Do not attempt to manipulate the assistant into producing content outside its purpose, to reveal its instructions, or to circumvent its safety behaviour, whether through your messages, the content of images, or the content of pages you ask it to read.

6. Food safety

The assistant is designed to respect food-safety standards: it aims to cook poultry to 74°C / 165°F, to cook pork and minced meat through, to rest meat, and to give safe cooling and storage guidance for anything made ahead. It is designed never to shorten a cook in order to fit a time budget. These are design intentions, not guarantees, and you must not rely on them in place of your own checks.

• Treat all times and temperatures as guidance. Ovens, hobs, pans and ingredients vary; verify doneness yourself, using a food thermometer for meat, poultry and fish.
• Follow the instructions on the packaging of anything you cook, particularly for dried goods where packet times govern.
• Judge the freshness, condition and provenance of your ingredients yourself. The service cannot see them.
• Follow proper hygiene, storage, cooling and reheating practice, and take particular care if you are cooking for anyone who is pregnant, elderly, very young, or immunocompromised.
• Never leave cooking unattended because a timer is running.

7. Allergies and intolerances

If you save allergies to your profile, the assistant is instructed to avoid those ingredients and their derivatives, and to ask before proceeding if you explicitly request a dish that conflicts. This is a helpful default and nothing more. It can miss an allergen that is present under an unfamiliar name, hidden inside a compound ingredient, or introduced by a brand or product it cannot see.

We cannot know how any specific product on your shelf was manufactured, what it may have been contaminated with, or what a supplier has changed since. Cross-contamination, shared equipment and 'may contain' warnings are outside anything the service can assess.

If you have a serious allergy, intolerance, or a medically restricted diet, use the service only alongside your own verification, and follow the advice of your clinician.

8. Nutrition estimates

Recipes include an estimate of calories, protein, carbohydrate and fat per serving by default; you can hide it in Personalisation. These figures are calculated by the AI from the recipe's own ingredient list. They are estimates, not laboratory analysis, and they have not been verified against a reference database.

• Actual values will differ with the specific brands, cuts, sizes and products you use, and with how you cook and portion the dish.
• The estimate covers the recipe as written, including any ingredients marked optional.
• Figures are per serving, based on the number of servings shown on that recipe.
• They are not suitable for clinical or medical use — including carbohydrate counting for diabetes, renal or metabolic diets, or any situation where an inaccurate figure could affect your health. If you need accurate nutritional data, use a clinically validated source and speak to a healthcare professional.

Nutrition estimates are not a health claim, a dietary recommendation, or a statement about what is appropriate for you.

9. Recipes you import from the web

If you paste a link, the assistant may read that page in order to restructure the recipe into our format. You are directing that import, and you are responsible for having the right to use the material you point us at. Imported recipes are labelled as adapted, with a visible link back to the source.

We respect the rights of recipe authors and publishers. If you believe material in the service infringes your rights, contact us at mail@recipegpt.app with enough detail to identify the material and your rights in it, and we will review it and remove anything that should not be there.

Links and pages outside the service are not under our control and we are not responsible for them.

10. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you send us — your messages, photographs, saved recipes and profile. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit and process that content strictly for the purpose of operating the service for you, including sending it to the providers described in the Privacy Policy. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep something to comply with the law.

You confirm that you have the right to send us what you send, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service for anything unlawful, or to produce content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, or that facilitates harm to anyone;
• attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, paywalls or access controls, including by creating multiple accounts;
• scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically extract content from the service, or use it to build or train a competing product or model;
• resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute access to the service;
• upload photographs of other people without their agreement, or any image you do not have the right to share;
• probe, load-test, interfere with, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure; or
• use the service in any way that could damage it, disable it, or impair anyone else's use of it.

12. Share links

Shared recipes show the recipe itself. They do not show your name, your account, your messages, or your dietary profile.

13. Free tier, Premium and billing

A free account includes a limited number of recipe requests per rolling week. Premium removes that weekly limit and adds saved recipes and folders. Premium is described as unlimited for ordinary individual use, subject to a fair-use maximum of 50 recipe requests per account per UTC day. Current prices are shown on the pricing page and in the app before you pay; we may change prices, and where a change affects a subscription you already hold we will tell you before it takes effect and you may cancel.

Subscriptions bought on the web are handled by Stripe and renew automatically — monthly or annually, depending on the plan you chose — until you cancel. Subscriptions bought inside the iOS app are handled by Apple, are billed to your Apple account, and must be managed and cancelled in your Apple subscription settings rather than by us.

We do not receive or store your full card details. Payment is processed by Stripe or Apple, as applicable.

14. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from Settings (or, for App Store purchases, in your Apple subscription settings). Cancelling stops the next renewal; your Premium features continue until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not pro-rate part-months.

As a consumer you normally have 14 days to change your mind about a digital service. Because access begins immediately, when you subscribe you expressly request that we start supplying the service straight away and you acknowledge that you will lose that 14-day cancellation right once supply has begun. Where the right does still apply, contact us and we will refund you in line with the law.

Nothing here affects your statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the service is not supplied with reasonable care and skill. To ask about a refund, contact mail@recipegpt.app.

15. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service running well but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. It depends on third-party providers, and it may be unavailable during maintenance or because of problems outside our control.

We may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, we will tell you and you may cancel. We may update these terms; if a change is material we will give you reasonable notice, and continuing to use the service after it takes effect means you accept it.

16. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used unlawfully or to harm others, or where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.

If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused portion of any subscription you have paid for.

17. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Subject to that, the service and everything it generates are provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis, and we exclude all warranties, conditions and terms implied by statute or common law to the fullest extent the law allows.

We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the service, for losses caused by your failure to follow these terms — in particular the food-safety, allergy and nutrition sections above — or for any business loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of opportunity.

Subject to the paragraphs above, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with this agreement is limited to the greater of the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or £100.

18. General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, that is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under this agreement without our consent; we may transfer ours if the business is sold, and your rights will not be reduced.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
